Clark from broken in boots gave me my first pair of boots. After living in Texas for 3 1/2 years I can finally say I own a pair of cowboy boots! In case you didn’t already know, broken in boots is located in Minneola, Texas. One of the smallest towns in the world- okay not exactly, but its pretty tiny. My friend and I traveled 20 minutes from campus to find the sweetest ( minus his occasional flirting ) man who owned a leather store. He told us all these crazy stories about how he used to be a elvis impersonator and showed us pictures of his kids? We were talking him into giving my friend a deal on these amazing boots and then I just happened to mention how it was my birthday and he let me have a pair of boots from the store- any pair I wanted! I found the perfect pair in a bin underneath the ones for display, they were broken in, dirty and amazing. He cleaned them up and stained the leather for me for free too! They look like they’ve been on feet that have been plowing through fields- there pretty much the greatest thing ever- well second most amazing thing ever. I told my friend before we walked in the first store that day that I really wanted a pair of ray bans, but I really don’t feel like paying over a hundred dollars for a pair… so what is the first thing I find? A pair of old school ray bans for only four dollars!

weekends like these make me want to quit student life...

5 hours away. houston, tx.
we became gypsies for a weekend.

with .50 cent pastries from a local mexican bakery, and a tent as our new home
-we were happy.

good morning nathan.

saturday we helped out at the mens shelter we had gone to during thanksgiving. i wish i had pictures to show you of the friends we made. just picture big, tough men covered in tattoos with there stories that Jesus saved and changed there lives.

and sunday: breakfast- easter m & m's and a audio sermon as church. later- a park that i think is soon to become one of our favorites.

it was a good weekend.
